Big issue occurred when DxO upgraded to DxO PhotoLab at about the same time that decided Adobe upgraded to Lightroom Classic CC! Apparently these two big companies did not consult with each other prior to these almost simultaneous big changes. We the consumers discovered the problems. I wrote to DxO and reported the problems that I ran into. Attached is a response that I got from DxO today:

So a multi-billion dollar company has to consult with a foreign owned competitor?

I see your point. However the "foreign owned competitor" is working on the problem. I doubt Adobe is doing anything.

I never thought of them as being competitors because they do different things but there is overlap.

DxO PhotoLab now works with Lightroom Classic CC. I just installed the DxO PhotoLab update and like what I see.

Me too!!!!!!!!

I just ran out and took this photo and loaded it into PS cc, exported it into the fixed DxO PhotoLab, brought it back into LR and then a trip into and back out of PS.

I was testing both DxO PL and a new 85mm f/1.4 lens.

FWIW:

I also make use of DXO version 11 to work from within Lightroom Classic CC as a plugin.... DXO utilizes two plugins to manage the operation.... one plugin is the exporter which launches DXO and tells it to go get the original file to edit, once in DXO you can work on the original and of course it remains untouched, DXO then exports a TIFF back to Lightroom, and creates a sidecar file for the original image....

The 2nd plugin then tells Lightroom to import that newly saved TIFF file from DXO and satck it with the original image in Lightroom after about a 40 second delay....

I had complained to DXO earlier that 40 seconds is a long time for the plugin to wait before launching into the actual import - perhaps they will address that, perhaps not...

Anyway, the latest version of Lightroom Classic CC broke the 1st plugin for DXO - I can no longer right click on an image and send the original over to DXO automatically.... The 2nd plugin still works, so once edited and exported back to Lightroom from DXO, Lightroom again waits 40 seconds then imports the new image and stacks it with the original, all is well...

DXO acknowledged the breakage and say they will be working on a fix, until that time they suggested to use DXO standalone and not use the Lightroom options....I however, now just right click on an image, select show in finder, then edit in DXO, export to Lightroom which saves the edited TIFF, exits back into Lightroom and after 40 seconds imports and stacks the DXO edited TIFF. NO harm, no foul.
