Every day we get scores of birds of many different species at our bird bath and water fountain.
Following are a few photos I thought were fun:
(By the way, it's 96 degrees here today, very hot for San Diego in late October)

So listen up, this is the plan...

Yeah, the fountain is more fun, but at least there is no body at the bird bath!

Looks neat.
My yard has lots of plants, many in pots so I can move them for picture taking variety. Selected to attract hummers and butterflies.
I have feeders for hummers, orioles, finches etc, also get doves and others including black phoebes* and occasionally a raptor looking to snack on one of the others.
My two bird bathes are just plain old round and shallow. Maybe adding a deep one with one of those stepped multi level ones over it and a solar powered pump would be a good idea for me to try. But we get black algae in this area and keeping it clean would be a bear.
You are having a cool spell huh? It is 101 here in Corona right now.

*They sit on the edge and then skim the swimming pool, I think they are grabbing bugs which seem to have a habit of drowning in my pool in great numbers. Better they eat them then the filter has to be cleaned more often.

Thanks, Robert.
I don't have any bird feeders and here is why:
-For the hummers - we have a bottle brush tree, a pomegranate tree and cape honeysuckle that the hummers go nuts over. We must have 30 of the little birds
-We live on a canyon and when we did a have bird feeder that held bird-seed it attracted all kinds of rodents: squirrels, rats, raccoons, mice, etc. (I hate them all), and the rodents would eat my tomatoes, pepper plants, lettuce, even the corn. So we got rid of the feeder. The rodents still come, but not as many.

Um, you are a BEAR, so cleaning it should be easy. LOL
Seriously though, the birds LOVE the streaming water in the fountain. They can't seem to get enough WATER.
Even on cold days, they play in the water fountain.
We do get some algae but what might look like algae on the copper leaves is mostly the copper-colored paint chipping away. I think I will just remove all the copper paint and let the rusty metal show through, at least then it will be uniform looking.

Ha!
It was 100 here yesterday, and I am not even in the hottest part of the city (well, close, but East of us is even a bit hotter)

I have the cape honey suckle and a couple of others they like, but the big draw beside my feeders is the next yard is full of fruit trees and some big flowering thing that is covered with large read blooms all spring through fall while the yard on the other side has morning glories climbing the fence and two trees. But I have the only nectar feeders and bird baths for open water.
Yes, squirrels etc come after the feeders, but I have my Yard Police: Toby-shin zhu-barks at them; Terror aka Tara-Jack Russell-she regards them as self propelled snacks, she catches mice, rats and lizards all the time but so far only tale hairs from the squirrels. She has killed a couple of half grown opossums and cornered a raccoon in the pool-they now stay out of the yard.

Yep they like water, bath in it, drink it, throw it all over the yard etc. I have even had a hawk in one of my bird baths. And the crows will put peanuts in the water to soften the shells when I put any of those out.

This is our coolest day for a week.
Our oldest son is taking some FEMA disaster training in Maryland and our daughter is in Cleveland as part of a month long trip for Medical School Interviews at 5 or 6 different schools from WI to FL. Both say it is lovely fall weather with leaves turning. A couple of weeks ago my wife was in San Diego for a Special Olympic tournament with our younger son.
