I can not upgrade beyond El Capitan on my 2009 Mac Tower. Perhaps cc classic will still work with my aged but very fine machine

On a Mac:

Check the Applications folder > Adobe Photoshop CC 2017 folder > Plug-Ins folder > Google folder to be sure you have a folder containing each of your Nik Plug-Ins.

Then be sure you go to Lightroom>Preferences>External Editing and set up each plug-in there.

Also, if you use the Nik tools stand-alone apps, they should be in the Applications folder > Nik Collection folder.

Burkphoto - thank you for your persistence. Nik is now working for me. Thanks for your help!

Good question. Mac High Sierra

I wonder if High Sierra is the problem. I've not upgraded from Sierra yet.

NIK did not break until I updated to High Sierra

Boom. And I assume that once you upgrade to High Sierra, NIK is gone for good as it is no longer being supported or updated.

After both upgrading to Classic CC and High Sierra I was able to reactivate NIK by reinstalling it and following burkphoto's advice posted above in this thread.

High Sierra is not for computers with spinning hard drives or fusion drives. Update for those coming later.

It will work on El Capitan even in a virtual machine (8GB Guest)

A conventional drive or fusion drive will not work with APFS, but High Sierra itself WILL work, if the drive is formatted the old way.
