Natchez...Aussies on tour.
Our month long trip going beautifully. After the cruise to Mexico, we caught the train from New Orleans to Jackson Mississippi. Nice city, really like it. Yesterday we picked up our rental car and drive the Trace Parkway to Natchez. Loved that drive, and good for Paul to get used to driving on the other side of the road, and steering wheel on the other side...( if he has to change lanes quickly, he flicks on the wipers instead of the blinkers.) :-)
For those who don't know, the Natchez Trace Parkway is worth googling.
There's a big hot air balloon fest on here, will explore Natchez today the cross the Mississippi to Louisiana later and go to a wildlife refuge over there.
Loving this part of our trip, away from tourists. We have not come across any other Australians since Los Angeles.
So just an update, we're having a ball.

Be sure to check the Meriwether Lewis memorial. He was the commander of the Corps Discovery from 1803 to 1806 , The Lewis and Clark expedition from St. Louis to the northwest coast. Lewis was appointed by Thomas Jefferson to become Governor of the Louisiana purchase and when he traveled to Washington DC he used the trace and that is where he was killed in 1809 just 35 yrs.old
Thanks for replying, can't talk now, gotta go....
Also if you have time for a meal stop at Loveless Cafe in Nashville for a classic southern cooking. Shang PS It is at the end of Natchez Trace Trail.

We have only had time to go from Jackson to Natchez along the Trace.
Interesting placards along the way, lots of history. I love the history of this whole area.

Thanks, but no time to get to Nashville, sadly. Too much to see, too little time.
