Help! Mystery Haze

Shakey Loc: Traveling again to Norway and other places.

Had a good time in Ireland. Here's a severely cropped photo of a small castle near Warrenpoint, Northern Ireland. A haze (Halo?) can be seen around the castle. The blurred (out of focus) background and foreground is deliberate. Have at it any way you want but lose the haze. Thanks for your help. Best viewed after clicking Download.

Nice work, kubota king! Truly the emerald isle. Thanks for killing the haze.

Great work, R.G. The castle looks the way I had in mind. Thanks for your interpretation.

Here is my quick attempt - using Adobe PSE15 with Noiseless filter.

Very pretty, Rathyatra. Sadly, the haze is still there. I like it despite that.

What camera and lens was this shot with? It looks like the camera has a very small common in point and shoot and bridge models. If so, don't expect to get the IQ from that that any larger sensor would produce.

LOL! It was an old 5mp Olympus pocket point and shoot, which I had to use as my camera had been left behind. Thought it would be a fun exercise for post processing enthusiasts, of which I am one.

Okay, that makes perfect sense, as it's 10+/- years old and the sensor may need cleaning,
huh? It's hard to do, so your P&S is likely past it's expected life and ready to be forever displlayed in a pawn shop for at least $100 more than the original suggested retail or you could give it to a young person you know is interested in photography to foster more interest.
