Great shots and commentary, Merry. It looks like your suet is a hit, and I'm sure the birds will be gobbling it up. You'll be busy all Winter keeping up with the demand. Your little feathered friends sure look happy about having such a wonderful treat!

I finally got around to making some suet for the birds.

MT, this is one of the best set of birds I have had the pleasure of viewing. The Carolina Wren (2nd and last photo) is one of the most vocal of all the birds I take photos of and these two are great. Thank you for sharing.

Morning Marigean! Beautiful little birds that do so love your suet. I am amazed at the number we have back home versus the few we notice here in the mountains. Guess they are spread out in all the woods. We did twice have deer walk down our creek below the windows and three turkeys that flew across the creek. We have one lone squirrel. Think I will relocate the ones we have at home. Got any you want moved? Found an amazing drive along the Tallulah River so if you come this way again I will give you directions. It is close to Clayton. Maybe you and I will have to come for a few days without the guys so we can shoot to our hearts content. S

2 cups shortening
2 cups crunchy peanut butter
4 cups yellow corn meal
4 cups oats
2 cups flour
2/3 cup sugar
Raisens

Melt shortening and peanut butter
Stir in all other ingredients. Put in 9x12 pan.
I put it in the freezer for 30 minutes before cutting it into squares for the suet feeders.
