Took some time off from chores to do some shooting. I might have gone a bit overboard in the recent clean-up. Or, I need to take more time away from chores to be able to scout out the photo ops. Yeah! That's it. NO MORE CHORES - SHOOT OUTDOORS!

After near death by drowning earlier this year, the dahlia bush did recover enough to give me 3 more blooms. It should still have a few weeks to provide more - fingers crossed!

Peppervine. Donna ID'd this plant for me. Now that I know it's not poison ivy or poison anything-else, I can cease the fight to eliminate it and let it grow. The tiny berries (now smaller than a pinhead) will be black when ripe. Birdfood!

Beautiful images of your dahlia and peppervine, Sherry! The bright red of the dahlia was rendered perfectly, and I love the composition of the leaves and tiny berries. We were at Meaher (didn't go to the bog as planned) today, and the birds had already stripped off all the peppervine berries there. Not a one to be found, so the scratchy things must not bother the birds.
That is a beautiful Dahlia Sherry. I think my wife has been suspiciously eyeing a similar plant as your Pepper vine in the garden. Maybe I can keep her from pulling it up.

Thank you, Donna. The only berries on mine are brand new little babies - maybe the ones at Meaher are a few days behind instead of all eaten up?
I'm sure you found some photo-worthy things today and I look forward to seeing them!

Thank you for your visit and your kind comment, Janos.
Donna sent me this link for ID'ing the peppervine:
http://www.foragingtexas.com/2008/09/peppervine.htmlShe and I find it to be a very informative site - and we don't live in Texas! Give it a visit and a browse.

What about several hundred pictures of one bird, Sherry. Proof of very slim clickins at Meaher too..but a beautiful sunset.
Beautiful shots, Sherry! I especially like that of the peppervine.
