Looks like your pretty cat has a play-mate.

Can't tell if your cat killed the bird or not. If you let your cat sit there and torture the bird I do not think it is funny at all.

Welcome to reality, friend. This is what cats do. Do you think you could improve their nature? Maybe you're just too squeamish to witness the brutality of the hunt, so I suggest you hide your eyes, or buck up and open them to what it is.

I don't think this "display" of a cats behavior has a place here. Yes, that is the way cats are and in the wild this would probably result in a quick death for the bird instead of a house cat torturing a hapless bird for its amusement.

I read that you "don't think". Hope that that works for you. Nature is as ugly brutal as it is beautifully gentle. Just can't have one without the other,
friend. If it's too real for you I'd suggest doing something to numb the senses. Personally, I embrace life's realities and what I feel with heart, mind, eyes wide open.

Cats should not be allowed to roam outside. They have decimated the songbird population, and the problem of feral cats has really exacerbated that. "It's what they do" is not an excuse for human decisions.

Birds of prey will kill song birds also.

They do so to eat and survive. Major difference.

Right, that's what they do. Cats are AHs. They kill billions (with a B) of birds every year. And people who let their stinking cats roam free are AHs, also. The dumb ass animals like coming into my yard at night and use it as their personal latrine. I keep threatening to get a live animal trap, take them to animal control and let their owners take the time to bail them out. If that doesn't work, I will take them out into the desert, which isn't too far from me, and let them go so they can find their way home. Good luck with that.

My daughters had cats when they were younger. The cat would go up on the hill in back of my house, catch mice and bring them back to my yard and torture them until they die. If I saw that I would use a pellet rifle to put the mouse out of its misery. Then I would put a pellet in the cat. Wouldn't see it for days afterwards. Sometimes the mouse would get away from the stupid cat and run into my house.

Another reality, friend. Coyotes kill cats. But I doubt they torture them first, just outright kill them as quickly as they can. You shouldn't get upset about that, that's nature, too. Coyotes have to eat also.

P.S. That part about the pellet and mouse was true but the part about the pellet and cat wasn't. That was just something I wanted to do.

I must agree with you about keeping your pussy captive indoors, but right now it sounds like it's hurting.

What the world needs is more sparrows. If you don't believe me just ask any Englishman after you offer him your Buffalo skin blanket and Beaver fur hat. Ooops, wrong time. What I meant is polyester pile blanket and fedora. Well, I think that's what I meant or this could be the ramblings of another wild hog. You know they 'em southin' boys killin' 'em, too. Y'all best find theys foums to tell 'em good now.
