Beautiful shots of a beautiful bird, Earl.

Do people ever have these for pets? Or are they protected?

Thanks for looking, Carhryn. They are not protected as there are zillions of them. There is no reason why one couldn't be kept in a cage privately, but I have never seen one. Because they are so common & sociable with humans, I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to keep one as a pet.

Earl.

It would be a shame to put one in a cage for sure! They should be free.

The most colorful bird in my back yard is a male cardinal. I would love to have one of these Lorikeets visit. Can you send one, please?
