Given the cost of the Yonguo strobes and what the deductible would be, it's less costly to just replace the strobes.
They are so cheap I don't even give them a decent burial .... straight to the trash can, after I take out the batteries :)

Yes, but different story if Bob falls in with his Nikon around his neck. I came pretty close to doing that last weekend. I could only get the shot I wanted by stepping down along the edge of a marsh and using a tree limb for balance.

Jay, I've been there/done that! I wrenched my knee and spent two years finally getting to the point that I didn't have to wear a brace. BUT, the shot was worth it :)

I got a knee going .... it's a race to see if I get to Medicare before I need to have it dealt with ...
I have rods and screws bracing my spine, but can't blame that on photography. No pain really, just makes it hard to roll on the ground and get back up quickly.
And airport security, I imagine?

It's a bitch not being 20 any more, isn't it? But, I think of Ed and those thoughts go out the window 😁.

I haven't flown since the surgery. Not sure how that will go.
When my wife and I last flew domestically, her looking somewhat anxious (because she doesn't like to fly) cause a long term search/questioning at the West Palm Beach airport. The male TSA agent made sure that he exerted his male dominance on both my wife and another woman whose husband was waiting for her, with her purse and carry on. A real PIA, that one.
So, good luck with TSA. Make sure that you have some type of documentation regarding the surgical implants, or you may miss your flight! (at least at West Palm Beach)

Weird, have all kinds of hardware in my back, and I never get caught by any scanners, but being dark complected, and having a beard, I'm stopped by "random searches" every time I go through security.
I guess I should stop wearing my white robe, sunglasses, and whatever the hat is called.....(ala every 70's movie)
In answer to the insurance, yes, I do have it, but with a $500 deductible, it's mainly for the loss of something major, or the loss of a lot of something major, like if a fire wiped me out.
I'm heading to Florida for 2 weeks. I actually scored a job while I'm there, so I'm sure my accountant will be able to figure out a way to write off at least some of the trip from my taxes. (yay)
When I get back, I have another senior shoot, 2 drone shoots, the veteran's day marathon, then nothing else on the books for the rest of this year. I'm both relieved, and worried about that last part.
I have a couple weddings in the hopper for next year, but no deposit money in hand yet. My biggest fear is going from a record high year, to a record low year.
I get this way every year about this time, and it seems to work itself out.

Have fun on your Florida "vacation". Hope the weather is good (read dry).

Yup "vacation" from working on my own flood damage, to work on hurricane damage.
Thankfully, with the photos, I should break even if I get to write off the expenses of the trip.
I even have another "maybe" for senior photos when I'm there.
