This building was part of the estate of President Andrew Jackson. Any comments would be appreciated. Feel free to edit this photo.

I like it much better on the download. Colors are much brighter, much better resolution. Exposure is very good. Nice color and great details. Like the shadows on the fence, the grass between the fence rails and on the cabin itself. . I like the splash of blue sky/white clouds. You framed the cabin with the tree and fence. IMHO, the fence competes with the main subject. It is it’s own story. Not to say an image cannot have two subjects and using the fence to frame while it is also a subject is creative. I iliek it. My one nit is the fence post intrudes on the bottom of the log cabin.

At your invitation I edited it, included is my thought for a little different story story. More focus on the cabin. It’s not better just different. See what you think of it.

JD I see your train of thought, and it is certainly a different view of the same subject. I guess it is my time to do a little picking. The top of the post that is still showing for me is a distraction. Certainly not causing the end of the world as we know it. LOL.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to edit my shot.

Oh yes that damn post. Could be removed at the penalty of some time spent in PS. But this is just fun conversation about seeing different pints ? Points of view. Over pints maybe. ;)

It's always good to do most conversations over a pint

Indeed!

I am finishing one as I type this.

And you are the artist. Who am I to critique your art? Not me. The things I posted are just different thoughts, about point of view.

I am sure you will get many more opinions. Good you are willing to hear them. It takes a lot of courage but it also builds strength.

I like your original...I think the fence and the trees help to frame the cabin...good job!... I'll buy the next round of pints!!

I think your original is quite nice. I like how you framed the cabin. It has been many decades since I was there and I frankly don't remember this cabin. Nicely done.

Thanks for commenting. As I walked past the fence it called out to me to use it as part of the framing. Glad you enjoyed the shot.

It certainly is. Thanks for your take on my shot. You must have moved in front of the fence to take that shot.

I like the photo, and I think including the fence frames the picture well and adds interest. The thing that might improve it is if you changed the shooting angle so that there was separation between the cabin and fence.

Thanks for your input, much appreciated. The only problem is I am about 850 miles away. So I do not think I will be returning any time soon.
I must say I did enjoy shooting there.

I think raise and tilt the camera so that the fence cuts about half way between cabin and bottom of frame would be better. Too much fence as-is.
