Thanks for taking a look see and taking time to comment. I was intentional with the shallow dof to portray movement of the pick hand and vibration of the strings. Guess I missed the mark😁

I think a shallow DOF works in a shot like this, but the focal point in between the hands does not. Bring one of the hands into focus in a tight crop and, voila. Try both to see what apeals to the eye.

First is to take multiple shots at slightly different focal planes and combined them (focus-stacking). Another would be to employ a PC lens that would have allowed you to "tilt" the lens, letting the focal plane more nearly match the plane of the instrument's neck. Which to use is a matter of personal preference, available equipment, and skill. A fun problem to solve!!

That question mark in my original post should have been an exclamation point. Those are really nice and they bring back many happy memories of sitting around the kitchen,when we lived in the south west corner of Virginia. Pickin' and agrinnin' with our neighbors
