Ebay as Resource for Sold items

I have used ebay mostly for purchases over the years so I know something about using it but I need some assistance in using previously sold items as a guide for current value of lenses recently sold. The only way I know is to find an item and place it on my watch list until it sells and slowly collect my comparisons. Surely there is a better way. Would someone tell me if there is a better faster and easier way and if so, how do I make that happen on the ebay site. Thanks in advance.

This site will give you a 'blue book' estimation.

eBay used to have a search for sold items? Is that gone?

On eBay do a search for the item your interested in knowing the going rate. Click on filter results: turn on SOLD. That will give you a listing of recently sold items and what they sold for. To get more historical pricing you need to subscribe to a paid service that collects that info.

Other option look at what KEH is charging. Hope this helps.

On eBay, type the item you are looking for in the search box. Click on Search. When the results come back, look down the column on the left hand side of the page and find 'Show only'. Check the 'Sold Listings' box and you will find the most recent similar sold items and the selling price.
Sometimes you will also see a 'trending' price under an item. I think this is just an average of recent sales and doesn't take condition or reputation of seller into account.

Just enter your product in the sold listings and it will show you the price it has been selling for during certain time periods!
