Does anyone know of a guidebook, in English, for a Canon G3 X?
Google didn’t so I have asked all the hedgehogs
I immediately found several when I searched...

Beside the obvious canon site answer for the manual there are companies who publish mini plasticized cheat-sheet and of course the obnoxiously named book "whatever" for dummies or idiots guide.
Depending on what you are looking for you should do a google search that allows you to find what really fits you.
Generic: Canon manual (PDF usually)
Condensed: Cheat-sheet (Terse, no detail, just navigation through the camera menus)
Extended manual: book for 'dummies' (I do not recommend these)
What I would recommend is getting the cheat-sheet and a book unrelated to your camera that explains what each setting does and how to use them (When, where, why and how), regardless of camera and not only about exposure (these are a waste of time and $$$ as being too narrow). I do not have a book title or author in mind thought.
Off topic...
We use 'google' as a verb. Yahoo tried to steal that with their short lived marketing 'Do you Yahoo?'...
Can you imagine conversation like:
- Do you dogpile?
- No, I bing
- I prefer yahooing
...
Silly interlude.
Same here. Maybe the OP checked Giggle.

I literally laughed out loud when I read this.
I'm wondering if the OP means something other than the user manual?
This is me, the OP, and I guess the answer to my query is NO, NOTHING BUT THE CANON MANUAL!
Thanks anyway everyone.
