Fall colors.

I guess in another week or two colors will be at their peak in the Southeast and I am referring to Tennessee, North and South Carolina. Hard for me to say how much devastation has been caused by the hurricane season.
I do not really know where to get some information. I know that The Great Smoky Mountains have always been good for fall colors but I am sure there are other places with beautiful landscapes or other photographic opportunities and I love those cemeteries in the montains usually close to a Christian church.
If anybody can help me with some fresh information I would certainly appreciate it very much.
Thanks in advance.

There are so many beautiful waterfalls along the Hwy. 64 corridor through Western NC--always good for getting double the color pleasure in the water reflections. And Biltmore Estate in Asheville will keep your camera clicking for at least a day. And a winding drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway brings you to many of those small communities with the old, family cemetaries. If you want sugestions on this WNC area, send me a PM and I'll be happy to share what I can.

I use the Foliage Network to keep track of leaf color. They have reports for the southeast. Not that much change from year to year, so their archived reports are good for anticipating peak color week.

We have a home in Gatlinburg and the photo op's are great. Cade's Cove with old pioneer buildings, church & cemetery, mountain streams etc. Roaring Fork Motor Nature trail has neat old houses beautiful in fall color. Also,of course the mountains.
The next two weeks should be the peak! Maybe a little later this year. Have fun!!

The West Virginia Scenic Highway has always been a favorite of mine. Also, the New River Gorge and Bridge afford some nice views.

I asked about this yesterday by phone at
the visitor center of Blue Ridge Pkwy at
Asheville (near US 70 intersection). Was
told of much damage to leaves between
Asheville south to Smokies Nat Park.
Leaf season is late there; must go north
to near VA state line or into VA. That this
is not a good year. Not much more
optimistic at Smokies Nat. Park.. I was
very disappointed about this but will visit
our son in Asheville and search and hope
for a few good shots. Ted Evans.

Vermont I think is the best I have ever seen for the Fall. Also driving down 81 south starting at the lower part of Maryland. Have a Great and Safe Time.

Thank you everyone for your help. Bill, seems to me it is too late for Vermont.
I expected damage in the leaves due to the torrential rains and the wind from Irma.
