Shot this image about 3 weeks ago. I waited and waited for him to "do something". Finally, he did. Hope you enjoy. As shot, but with minor cropping. Nikon D7200 with Tamron 150-600 hand held.

Thanks for the compliment. It wasn't dark, but I was shooting down at the bird. The water was the background and that is why I was able to get that look. I took a few shots of great egrets from that same spot, and they all have the same dark background.

Thank you very much for looking and commenting.
I tend not to use the "store original" because I have to use an editing program to down size the image and strip out my personal info. It's an extra step that I'm just too blasted lazy to do. No excuses - just lazy!

Good capture and background but the egret does not look as white as they normally are. Perhaps a little lightening in the highlights or white.
