My daughter absolutely can't shoot unless she has an 18-200mm VR/VRII on her D7100. She had one but loaned it to my grandson who is hitchhiking all over SE Asia with it. I'm looking for one for her.

Yes, I've tried KEH, B&H, etc. No one has a used one in good shape.

Did you try eBay. I've bought three lenses there and all have performed great for me...

Cameta has Nikon refurbs for $459 (http://www.cameta.com/Nikon-18-200mm-f-3-5-5-6G-VR-II-DX-ED-AF-S-Nikkor-Zoom-Lens-Factory-Refurbished-49168.cfm)
I know she loves her Nikon lens, but did she look at other brands i.e. Tamron. I personally have the Tamron 18-270 VR on my D7200 and found it is a solid, reliable lens plus you can get them used for ~ $200 (again Cameta). Maybe get her that for now and if she doesn't like it, give that lens to her cousin when he gets back?

Asked if this 18-200 VRII is still available for $325.
Shows it's still available.

I just sold a Nikon 18-200 for $190.00. I liked the lens took it on vacations in USA and Europe.

I sold it and bought the Tamron 18-400mm. Well made Lens. Better reach and so far so good.

I bought mine a few months back for $200. It is the first generation and the "creeping" has not been an issue with my copy. I never carry it extended.
It is a great walk around lens with excellent quality images.
Good luck!

She's a big girl and will buy it herself. I just promised to look for her. Thanks for this info. I think the Tamron would be great, but she insists on the Nikon. I'm usually a Cameta fan, having had great service from them on four cameras. Don't know why I didn't check them. Thanks. $459 for a Nikon refurb is a good price. And Cameta adds their own one-year warranty.

Maybe she should try the 18-140mm. A really good lens with some nice reach and sharpness

The 18-140 sucks at focal lengths from 141-200mm.
