Normally I present images like this as b&w sketches, or in black and white. They take on a whole new flavor in sunlight. But the end result is always the same ...... at some time, it's gonna come down.

Question is: When?! I've got photos from several years ago of some buildings that look like they would not last through the next heavy snowfall. Today they look pretty much the same. I guess when the supports decay from the bottom where they are affected by moisture, the inevitable will occur... Those old buildings were made of sturdy stuff!
Yup! Some last longer than others, but, eventually.....

Thanks, Pierre. But it got me to thinking ....... I've been to the Parthenon in Greece and the Coliseum in Rome, and they're still standing. Of course, they're made from stone ..... a bit harder for the wolf to blow down.

Right. Planning is the most important part of any project.

Great shot Bob and what a shame. They do present a great photographic opportunity.
Nice image and so true, Bob!
Yep--it's on its way. I'd give it ten years at least. Those old fellows hang around longer than we think they will.
Depending on the age of the barn, some were built with wooden pegs instead of nails. They don't come out or work loose like nails do! So, even though the wood starts to rot, the barn doesn't fall. We had a barn that was nearly impossible to tear down because of that. The replacement barn has only been there about 50 years and it's in shambles already.
Nice picture, Bob.
Makes a very nice picture!!!!! But, going.....going......?
I like it in color, Bob! Very good shot. I enjoy taking shots of old barns.
