There were lots of "special shapes" this year. It was beautiful weather for the first day, and likely will be beautiful and ideal for much of the week!!
It looks like you had a beautiful day to photographed these colorful and unique balloons. Nice work!
Many, many years ago, I attended the Balloon festival with a Minolta X700 and motor drive. I distinctly remember, when all the Balloons launched in the morning, the sound of countless SLRs firing rapidly. I think I shot about 10 rolls of Fujichrome that morning.
Nice shots. Apparently, there was a strong UHH contingent there.
Good shots and very colorful!! You must have had a ball.

Is the last balloon a New Zealand Balloon called Iwi the Kiwi? If so my brother in law was crewing on that, all the way from Carterton in New Zealand.

Thanks to all for checking out and comments on the photos.
Excellent series. I have only seen one large balloon launch and that was many, many years ago. It is a spectacular thing to watch. You really did get some excellent shots, especially of the more unusually shaped balloons.
