Field Hockey with 5ds r

My granddaughter( # 12) started her first year in high school joining the JV Field Hockey team so I went last week to snap a few. When she shared them with team mates they asked if I would take some this week of all of them. The JV team plays after the varsity so their after school games don't start until 4 0r 5 o'clock and by the time the JV game starts we are well into the golden hour with a terrific camera that's terrible in low light. For all of these I used my 100-400mk2L and tripod. All photos were cropped but not heavily because at this particular field I could sit just 10 ft off the corner line which eliminated a lot of spectators in the field of view. I shot about 200 frames and given that field hockey is not as fast paced as some other field sports(given only two players are allowed on the ball at any given time) the 5fps worked ok.

Thank you CHG CANON. The girls are proving to be a pretty good team this year so the action is pretty much concentrated on one half of the field which made my job simpler.

Thank you for taking a moment to comment. Yes, eye protection, mouth guards, and officials who were adamant re safe playing. Even with all the cautions one player( from the other team) went down in a collision and game was stopped for 40 minutes for rescue to come, immobilize her before the moved her into ambulance and off to hospital. There was concern about her head and neck. I haven't heard how she is.
