Some pics from my little cosmos garden in the backyard. They were all volunteers seeded from last years plants grew out of control to as high as 11 feet.

Beautiful flowers. Looks like they are taking over. The bee seems to like them.

These are gorgeous, Gary. Sharp, well exposed and colorful. I can't pick a favorite because I love them all!

Hi Tikva,

Cosmos are among my favorites because of their simplicity, and the various garden bugs seem to enjoy them too. It is a small garden with some of other stuff; it's survival of the fittest. Most of the other flowers do well in the Spring and Summer, but cosmos take over later in the year, and will bloom until the snow comes.

Thank you for your comments.

Carol, thank you so much for your kind and very generous comments. I'm so sorry your gardens were wiped out by the hurricane, and I'm still shooting flower and bug pics in the back yard. I will have to send you some cosmos seeds.

Thank you so much.

Gary, a lot plants died from the stress of Irma or were pulled out of the ground. However, I have many that are slowly recovering. We have a long fall growing season and most plants winter well if we don't have a hard freeze. All said, I have hope! Unfortunately, Cosmos don't seem to do well here. They never get large like yours and the ones I have tried didn't live long.

Hi Kymi,

Cosmos make good photo subjects, and if a bug happens to be there, it's a bonus. Next year I plan to buy new seeds to get some additional colors.

Thank you for your comments.
