Pumpkins

I guess fall is upon us, though it's still warm here. For our anniversary a few weeks back, we spent the weekend in the redwoods up near Boonville. We stopped at an apple farm and I took pictures of... pumpkins ?!? Either that or they're the biggest dang apples I ever did see...

I know they aren't apples. The shape is pumpkin, but the colour is odd for them. Someone will know.

I agree, the coloring is a little different than any pumpkin I've ever seen.

They were pumpkins. In spite of it being an apple farm, they had more kinds of squash and pumpkins than you could shake a stick at.

There is a pumpkin farm off of Glen Oaks Rd off ramp on interstate 10 in Yucaipa. Many kinds of pumpkins. This one has lots of bumps on it.

Weird color. They look bronzed!

The color is partly due to the color of the light. These were in deep shade, and it was late in the day, so there's a blue cast to the whole picture. I liked it, so I didn't change the color balance much. If you'd pulled these out into full daylight, they were orangish on top and green below.
