At the Ministry of Mayhem's weekly meeting, the Martian reported he'd blown the annual budget on expanding the fleet, after the Navy repossessed Madame P's submarine. He'd acquired three magnificent new vessels--the Lachesis, the Clotho, and the Atropos, shown here at their mooring. He said the acquisition was needed, feeling the Ministry's current fleet was inadequate to address our defensive needs, and the new vessels would present a significant deterrent to attack by any potential enemy.
Admiral Madame P, testifying later before the Kitty Council Budget Committee, claimed she was neither consulted about the purchase nor in favor of it, adding the expenditure was 'unnecessary.'
The Martian, when called before the Budget Committee, noted that revenues from his illegal Saturday night hamster fights were up sharply, and would not only replenish the treasury, but also pay for the upkeep of the new armada.
Committee members appeared dubious and deferred any decision on rubber-stamping the deal, instead sending the particulars to Grand Panjandrum Tippit for final approval.
Treepusher - this is a very pleasing image using the painting effect!

Thanks, CHG_CANON. A dash of paint here and a dab of paint there, and pretty soon you have an interesting image, lol. Something a little different, and glad you enjoyed the experiment.
Thanks for your very kind comments and visit, they're much appreciated!

Thanks, phlash46. I'm sure there are prettier places to shoot than Maine. I've just not found one, lol. Glad you enjoyed the post, and thanks as always for your kind comments and visit. Always much appreciated!
Excellent work as always Randy and those new aquisitions will come in Handy in an emergency, fit a mast and a sail on it and buy a couple of strong catapults and Bobs yer uncle.

Thanks, Angler. You're quite right, and that was the Martian's argument. He claims the Looney Cat (if you recall that epic adventure) could be adapted to naval warfare, and these vessels would make excellent sea-going launch pads.
I have my doubts.
But one might as well argue with a rock as the Martian. We'll see.
Thanks for the laugh and your visit, always very much appreciated!
Another classic, Randy. I like everything about this image.
Lovely and peaceful shot, Randy and I like your processing!

I love that painting effect!!!
You guys might have to wait a bit for Tippit's approval..... I think she's got her own worries now....
Randy the image is wonderful with the painting effect. While some are purest, I think a little experimental effort goes a long way. Thanks for sharing.
BTW you have a terrific sense of humor, I love the added text!

Thanks, John. Another processing experiment mixing photo and paint. Glad you enjoyed it. The shot was taken in Kennebunkport a couple of weeks ago, a very pretty and peaceful area of the town, where you'd never suspect the hustle and bustle that goes on only a short distance from this scene.
Thanks for your very kind words and visit, they're always much appreciated!

Thanks, Angela. This is looking toward the Upper Village in Kennebunkport, a very pretty place, and the original shot was nice as is. But since I can't leave well enough alone, I tried painting it. Didn't work. I didn't like what happened to the boats and water, and the wonderful textures of the rock surfaces on the left were lost. So tried again, this time masking off the rocks, water and boats. Made it interesting, and I liked the result. I'm pleased you did, too.
Thanks for the kind comments and visit, always much appreciated!

Well it certainly be a fleet to be feared!!!
With or without a backstory, this is a very appealing, beautifully composed and skillfully processed shot! Well done!
