Great camera. It uses Nikon lenses because the body is a Nikon body with Fuji electronics. High dynamic range for it's era. Used heavily in wedding and portrait studios because of the penchant for the Fuji super CCD sensor to treat white's and skin tones better than most other sensors. I've taken some great images with the Fuji S5 Pro, and put as many as 250,000 shutter clicks on one. This was a great Nikon/Fuji collaberation and the price here is excellent.

Good luck.

The Fuji S1 was my first digital slr.
I later got the S2 and used it so long I skipped to the S5, which I still use in the studio.
Fuji's colors and dynamic range are a great selling point.

Unlike the S2's two battery types, the S3 needs only AA's.
Here's a review on the S3 for prospective buyers:https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/fujifilms3pro\
Good luck with selling.

How many shots can you get on a set of AA batteries?

I don't recall what battery life was with the S2, but using 2 batteries was a pain.
They improved that with the S3.
The review I gave a link for above doesn't specify the # of shots, just that:

"... Fujifilm (at least in the UK kit) supply an AA battery charger and a set of four 2300 mAh AA NiMH batteries, we found these to provide plenty of capacity to shoot all day long without even a hint of low power. The disadvantages to this setup versus a single Lithium-Ion (as used in other digital SLR's) are that you have to unload and load four batteries each time they need charging, that NiMH batteries lose their charge 'on the shelf' and that they take longer to charge. "

That last statement about losing their charge 'on the shelf' is no longer an issue if you use Eneloop batteries.

I never considered my S3's or my S5's to be problematic on battery life. Most of them did heavy duty in Portrait and Wedding work because of their treatment of whites and dynamic range. I sold my last S5 with a shutter count of 254,000. The guy I sold it to 4 years ago is still using it. The Nikon base body accounts for that, and the Fujifilm Super CCD sensor accounts for it's specialties in colors and d-range. There is no mechanism for shutter count on the S3 (I've owned 5 of them).

There was no S4 and they put a shutter count utility in the S5.

The base body on the S5 was a Nikon D200. The S3 was a collaberation with one of Nikons earlier bodies. Very reliable.

Somebody is missing a bet on this camera at this price. Please buy it, or if it's still here in one month.... yeah, that's me with another classic fantastic camera. I just bought an Olympus Pro E1 from this seller.
