Paulie, Lovely image.Appears soft which I would say was a focus issue.At a 1/1000 unless you are a little jerky, should have froze the movement.That leaves focus.Did you try to sharpen in Post Processing?

Thanks for your input. I never really did anything in B&W. I have tried it pretty much for the first time with this one, because I thought the composition is simple enough to try. I guess it didn't work out...

It sure is a focusing issue. I went skating 7-8miles with camera in the back pack and no tripod.
This was probably the best shot I was able to get while catching my breath ... (Not a good idea when shooting with telephoto)
