It was a dull, cloudy day, so I had nothing much to do but go for a drive 'in the bush'. These pics show some of the ungainly looking paper bark trees that grow in this area--they just grow into any shape they want to, following no pattern whatsoever. Downloading is recommended.

I like gnarly tress. They have a beauty all their own. Pretty shots, Earl.

They are like Baobabs in a way, Earl. They look like they are jammed upside-down into the ground. Nice images.

Earl, great photos and yes, they can not only grow in unique ways, they soak up all the water they can. South Florida imported them to help in draining the Everglades and now they can not get rid of them, they are survivors. When you try to burn them up all they do is throw out their seeds. Bugs and reptiles also love them because it is easy to get behind the paper like bark. Just my thoughts on the trees not Earls photos which are great.

Thanks for posting these trees. Everything in nature has its own "look". Interesting nonetheless.

Great series Earl, each tree having a shape of it's own makes all quite appealing and unusual.
