Outside of Taos, New Mexico, there is a community of self sufficient homes, which operate off the grid. They are built primarily with old tires and glass bottles and cans. If you zoom in on the buildings, you can see the use of bottles and cans fairly clearly. These photos are nothing special from a photographic point of view, but I thought the content warranted posting. It is a fascinating place.
This is totally amazing, thanks for sharing!!! I wonder how many others will start saving bottles and tires!!!
But I wonder how close is the nearest doctor or store!!
Yes it is a fascinating place. Except for the truck in the 3rd shot, I don't see any signs of life.
Actually, it is only about 15 miles from Taos.

Only!!! LOL.... well there goes those late night cravings!!
Have a couple friends who have been living in and building Earthships as a biz over 20 years. Added straw bales homes fifteen years ago. Great environmental activity.
Central Oregon
We were not allowed to explore the grounds at will and were not allowed to see inside any of the residential buildings. As a result, we never really saw anybody there except for the people manning the visitor center.
