I have obtained 2 enlargers of extreme different size. One is a Fotar, 8 feet tall and made for 10X10 negatives.
Having spent a lot of money on a D800 I am trying to make the Fotar usable for cheap. I only pad $295.00 for the chassis.
I plan on buying a 12X12 600 LED 1000 watt video light from China.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170856616010#ht_3202wt_1400They claim 5500K and supply a yellow filter to make it 3200K. It also dims and most of these appear to change color as they dim. Using filters I hope to be able to use multi-grade paper.
I will make an enclosure and difusion layer and a glass plate negative holder.
Again most of the more appropriate forums ended their discusion on this 7 years ago. There is a fellow selling a 4X5 LED head, but I need 10X10.
Any thoughts?
BTW
The little enlarger in the picture is a 35mm Filmarus brand. Tiny and cute, when I first saw her across a room I thought it was a valuable Leica enlarger. It was made in Germany, but is fairly crude, using friction to adjust height and focus, no rack and pinion!
