Hi guys,
I need a source where I can have a photo card restored. I had unknowingly set my camera 3 stops overexposed. Is there any way of restoring the photos I took to make them recognizable? See attached samples of what happened during this shoot. Many thanks!
Post this in the PP section to see if the couple of competent folks who hide in there can do it. They will need the largest possible original to work with, not the UHH crappy default.
Since you are new, here is the link
http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-116-1.htmlNext time to find something, click on 'home' (top left)
This will present a default list.
Scroll down on the list and click on 'All sections' where everything other 'private' section is listed.
If you like a section, click subscribe.
This has two effects:
- The select forum will appear in the 'home default list'
- The subscription means you will also received updates on this section in UHH newsletter/digest, if you are subscribed to it.
One more thing, read the forum requirements before posting. In this case you use Main photography and this is not the place to post this type of request.
...
Also, if you shot raw that will help some, but it is harder to recover from blown-out image like this than underexposed.

If you've shot RAW format it will sure help the process. Trying to de-stretch JPG is not normally too successful. I normally use Lightroom for situations such as this.
I did download your JPG image. It is not recoverable (whites are badly clipped, i.e.: lost!); however, like I said, you might be able to recover a lot more from the RAW file.

Send me a couple of the originals and I'll take a shot. Overexposed is hard because the data just isn't there but there may be something to recover.
Send a private message and I'll reply with my actual email so you can send one directly.
Hi CPR,
Another member is currently working on restoring my overexposed photos. Will definitely keep you in mind if it doesn't work out. Thanks for your willingness to help me out!
