Old Westbury Gardens

This week I went with a dear friend to Old Westbury Gardens. It is one of the few remaining Gold Coast Estates on Long Island. We had such a good time. The reason for the trip was to see a installation by Seward Johnson. His sculptures are interesting to say the least. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

THese weekend places were often referren to as Summer cottages, and were rarely used as a primary residence. Btw this one was used as the estate in the movie Love Story as the Barret Estate. Not bad for a summer place.

Excellent images, Tricia.... especially the gazebo, love everything about it!!
It was a fantastic day and so glad we got to see it all!! ...I still haven't looked through my shots!

Thanks for stopping by and the kind comment. I'm trying to get back into working with my photos (PSE-15) and these shots will be good projects. Once I figure out WHAT to do with them.

Thanks for the info. I had forgotten about it being used int Love Story. This one and Caumsett (Marshal Field III) are my favorites!
