Last week I posted an HDR of a tobacco barn, shot hand held in HDR using 3 images, one metered, one +1 stop and one -1 stop. It was taken at mid day with the sun high and harsh. I decided to go back and shoot it again, using the same camera, but putting it on a tripod and shooting the HDR at metered, +2 and -2 stops. It was taken at about 4:30 PM this past Sunday and the light was golden yellow. If light can be too rich, this was like a hot fudge sundae on a frosted fudge brownie - with whipped cream, nuts and a cherry!
I have never seen a tobacco barn with paint on it! Nice photo

This is wealthy Connecticut where the farmers can afford to paint their barns every 20 or 30 years.

I like a lot, that is some tough work right there, done it a couple times, thank you for sharing!
Ahhh... Memories! Grew up in Connecticut valley, and at that time it was a right-of-passage that most youngsters "worked tobacco". Still remember working under the nets on some farms and under the sun on others. Seeing the photos makes me literally smell the Shadegrown and Broadleaf! (and the 50 cent an hour wage most kids got. I worked for someone we called "the Russian", and he treated us quite well, gave us a basic lunch, and paid us the $1.00 minimum wage. Who-ee! We still stank at the end of the day.)
I spent about 6 months on Prospect Hill Road in the mid 60s - rumor at that time was that young Porto Rican Girls worked the barns half naked - but then, that was a bunch of young sailors rumoring....
