I would but first you would have to pass so... No, sorry, I will not pick-up anything from someone still alive that is still enjoy his collection.

Prepare to whom (will), then die* and let your executor take care of it.

AND TAKE YOUR TIME!!!

I am referring to only one book and in the process question the pricing. I have about 3,500 e-books in french to read so I am not in need BUT I wanted to read this one.

As I stated in the title I am venting my irritation at the unjustified price. I will have to wait a couple of years I guess. I am way to cheap to spring $16.00 for a book, paperback or electronic. Funny thing? The hard cover is 14.99!!!

I've written two books and it's not the writer that drives or controls the final cost. The printer and/or the website take most of the profits and the writer usually loses.

And this does not reduce the greed issue. This time this is from both ends.

To me this is something the writer's guild (if there is one) should address.

I guess my tolerance for longer story lines is higher than fourlocks. I don't mind more complex story lines that take more than one book to complete. At least in the Star Trek series they usually tell the story from more than one perspective.

Libraries have had ebooks where you can access books on a computer for no charge, just like borrowing one at the library.

Once upon a time e-books had a price difference since they were not printed and that cost was gone.

Now e-books and regular books are the same price resulting in me (and likely other) getting seriously upset. I do not mind paying a premium for paper but I sure as am not willing to pay premium for a e-book.

The results? I am now scouring the WEB for bootleg copies. If the writer lose part of their income, it their fault by being as greedy as their publisher so **** them.

I have many sources for french e-books. Now I will push my search toward english e-books.

That's it.
Once upon a time e-books had a price difference si... (show quote)

Well said - initially there was a handsome discount for e-books for the reasons stated but now it is just naked profiteering.

There is a standing joke that a writer was asked where they could buy his book and he replied, "Just give me the 60 cents royalty and I'll tell you the story."
