Weathered Barn

Have you ever passed a place that you know you want to photograph but there is no place to
pull off a road with no shoulder? I finally figured out where to park off the road and came
up with this image of an aging barn. The speed limit on this section of the road if 50 mph.
Remember to take your photographs safely. Kind of reminds me about the old saying
pilots have. There are old pilots and bold pilots. But there are no old bold pilots.

Great picture however I disagree on the old bold pilot statement. No one can say Chuck Yeager is not a bold pilot and he is still kicking at the age of 94. And yes I have passed a lot of interesting old barn, abandoned houses and other structures and wished I could stop and photograph them.

In the Navy the idea of putting a young pilot in the seat of a very powerful aircraft had safety drilled into them
by a cartoon character called Grandpa Pettybone. Each month they would get stories under that monica to
let them know what safety preflighting or aircraft operational deviations they were responsible for. Today
we have the Darwin Awards to let us know how stupid is working out for those who come up with bad judgement
or ideas. Yes Chuck Yeager is the model and exception but there are many others who are not on the planet anymore
who did not think safety was worth their time.

Being bold is not the same as being stupid.
