This is why I don't use the Effects choice on the Mode dial. I don't remember what this effect is called, but I thought I'd give it a try.

back in the days of my D5100, I also had to try this effect mode. Without any success to capture one single "sketch" photo that could be pleasant for my eyes.
The old of the house where I stayed for a little time, she wanted som photos from her area, but she insisted I took all the pictures with mode.
While she was ecstatic about the result , I was questioning my self why did they introduce this option and who really wants such photos. Apparently there are people out there loving it.

Having owned the D750 for over two years, this is the first time I'm used Effects. At least I don't have to select that Mode again.

Well, Jerry, I think you can forget that mode for that type of shot. It's fun to try different things, though.

I'll take a look at the other effects some day. There may be something interesting.
