Sherry, this gal bears a strong family resemblance to Mabel, who rented a spot under our porch awning not long ago. I'm thinking maybe this could be Mabel gone on to the greener grass of Sherry's yard. Whoever she is, this is a fantastic shot!!

Thanks so much, Angela. Yes, I used the ringlight. I couldn't tell that it was throwing any light on the spider, got discouraged by that and started shooting with a different camera. So, I was surprised when I loaded the pics to the computer. I think being even closer (couldn't do) or a stronger light would have been better still, but I'm kicking myself for giving up on it so soon. There will be another day!
