I have had my X-T10 for about three months now and really like the camera. However I am having problems getting consistently good pictures compared to my D7000. The pictures are in focus, sharp but 60 to 70% of the time the light metering seems off...shadows seem to be darker than they should be...highlights will be just a touch to bright.
I am using XC 16-50 lens...T-mode...auto ISO(ISO Base 200-ISO Limit 6400-Min Shutter Speed 1/60)...auto WB...spot metering.

Posting a couple of shots I am happy with...

Hi Scout---Spot metering could be the problem...Just a fraction off of average light messes things up...Not always, but ? I would try center averaging focus mode...Hope this helps, but I remember once back in 1952 when I was wrong! Good luck.....Jim

Scout - Single point metering (called "spot" on a Fuji) may not always be the best choice, depending on the scene. On a Fuji camera, zone or wide-tracking are also available as choices. I'd suggest experimenting.

I'm relatively new to Fuji and I would agree with the above. You may also have inadvertently changed the exposure compensation. It's easy to do. Which brings up this point: If you don't get the desired exposure, you can easily adjust the EC and reshoot.

It might be more helpful if you posted a couple of shots that you're not happy with in order for everyone to see the problems you see. Be sure to check the "store original" box so the EXIF data can be accessed.

I switched over to zone focus and here are the results... First two pics from Fuji second set from D7000...middle of white gate focus point for first pic...edge of shadows to the right for second shot. D7000's metering changes not as abrupt as Fuji's...

Sounds about right. I used that in the 1960s, but I had to be careful where I put the spot.

Not really "zone focus". I believe you meant "exposure".
