Stock backgrounds for future use.
A) Happy Sunday, HOG's!
B) The topic: Last year I started submitting images to stock photo sites and thereupon specifically shooting a fair amount specifically for stock photos. It happens to get quick feedback on the technical issues in your work. There's some money to be made, but it's not going to be my second million.
C) After returning from another vacation and finding quite a few photos with great scenes but bland skies, I figured out something that really helps... Stockpiling cloud/sky/landscape backgrounds for future use!
I don't think a week goes by that I don't see some lovely cloud formations in the course of every day travels. Now I make it a point to drive to an open area and collect a few shots for some unknown future project. I even went back through some vacation shots where the buffalo left before I pulled the trigger but the field and mountains were more patient. (waves where the dolphin was... out of focus bushes that the hawk flew by...)
Anyone else trying something along these lines?
fyi: Copper Falls, MI, thanks for asking. Created as a vertical merged panorama.
I've not yet done it, but I'm thinking I should. I especially want some storm clouds.
Yes, all the time. Thanks for sharing.
