I was out for a stroll @ lunch the other day and managed to snag these images. I was using the 100-300 4.5-6 USM lens on the 5d MkII. These were processed in Afinity Photo BTW.
The 5d MkII is a huge leap from my venerable 10d, and I'm looking forward to learning how to use it properly. Comments / critiques welcomed.

Really. From a 10D. You will notice the increase in available ISO, and the screen on the back will be huge after that. I think the full frame would be great for creativity, a bigger sensor just ticks so many boxes. Best wishes, lets see more of your results. I went from 30D to 50D some time back.

Looks like you are having fun.
I'm impressed with the amount of detail the camera and lens was able to resolve in the foliage on the other side of the water. Very nice compositions. I wish the white pole was not there in the lower photo. I wonder if content aware fill in Photoshop could eliminate the pole.
Very nice image...you have a great camera, i would love some day to acquire one.
thx CO! I took the pole out with Affinity Photo's patch tool. much better now.
thx Marty - I almost got an 80D but decided FF was where I needed to go. that put me in 6D / 5D used territory. I got lucky and found this one on Craigslist for 500, body only.
Looks to me like you're using it properly already!
oh - thanks - but I am feeling technically inadequate - I have a lot of experience tweeking pix in photoshop for graphic / print production, but taking them is still a rocky road for me. I don't feel like I am in command of the camera yet. Especially in the field. Product photos in studio I can do ok. Adjusting on the fly to field conditions makes my head hurt... : ) but working hard to get there.
Cheers,
Chris
The last two are beautiful; just wish the first two were closer, RedDot, or zoomed in.
Thank you. 300mm is as close as I could get. Someday I may get 500 or 600
