Shoutout to Nikon customer service

Just wanted to take a moment to praise Nikon's handling of the shutter recall on the D 750. My camera is 3 years old , I purchased in 2014. I have loved it from the moment I got it. The shutter was the second recall it has been affected by. I chose to wait to take advantage of the recall until after the eclipse and a vacation.

I sent the camera in and it took about 2 weeks to return. The invoice shows they replaced the shutter mechanism ( I had about 27000 clicks on the old one if I recall) . But here is why I am impressed, they also replaced 3 parts of the rubber, they adjusted the autofocus, checked communication{?}, checked flash operation and cleaned the sensor, plus did a general check and clean. I have had to reset all of my preferences such as BBF, no big deal

All no charge..

I just think this is an outstanding way to treat a recall, and their customer. Just wanted to share. I feel they put my camera back in new condition.

If You Were Around Last Month We & I Raised a Stink Last Month on Nikon's Customer Service on UHH, it was Very Interesting.

I Put in My 2 Cents Regarding My Issues With My Pocket Coolpix Cameras & Told the Story About My Friend & His Expensive Nightmare With & How His D90 Was Damaged by a Thug Who Stole it Briefly at a S.F. Muni Metro Station & the $610.00 Repair Bill That Cost Him!

You were Lucky on Getting Your Nikon Serviced With No Hassel's, Some People Had Their Nightmares & Frustrations with Nikon's Service Center

I had the same experience with my D750. 2 weeks turn around time, new shutter, new rubber, clean sensor , check focus. It looked brand new when I got it back. I was impressed.

I just had to have my Coolpix S9700 repaired. Under warranty, Coolpix cameras are sent to United Camera for repair. Mine came back 5 days.

Yes, that seems to be typical. In addition to the recall, they did other work on mine, too.

I've used Nikon (NPS) 2 times in the last few years. Each time, their service was exceptional! I have nothing but praises for them.

I am a recent convert to digital. I stayed loyal to Nikon having been a Nikon user for over 50 years. I had some questions that I couldn't find answers for on Google searching. I decided to just call Nikon support, not expecting much. The person answering the phone, who spoke very good English, with no discernable accent, was super friendly and helpful. She spent almost 20 minutes walking me through some problems, admitting that what I needed was not easy to find and counter-intuitive.

Kudos to the Nikon support telephone line.

I have had/have a multitude of Nikon cameras from the F to the D800. Only time I required service was the left focus issue on D800. Work was expedient and professional. Not a problem since

Yeah...

At the Time the Service Center Was in Suburban El Segundo, Their now on Wilshire Bl in the Miracle Mile District Just Outside Beverly Hills.

& I Have 2 Coolpix Cameras Bought, One I Dropped & Paid $56.00 to Repair, No Hassel's with that Repair, the Second One was Another Coolpix Camera I Bought from Wal-Mart, in that Case The Zoom Lens Malfunctioned & I Had the Camera for Nearly 24 Hours, I took it to Wal-Mart, & I was told it was the Last Coolpix Model in the Store, so I Took it Over to Nikon Via the Metro Green Line & At 1st Nikon Service Reps Wanted Me to have Wal-Mart Deal with it, But Nikon Agreed to Repair it For No Charge, Hell.. They Just Replaced the Whole Camera a Week Later & I Was Happy with it!

It Was My Friend who Got Screwed By Nikon Service Reps Mainly on the 2nd Repair when He Got His D90 Back After Paying $560.00 on the 1st Repair, when he Recieved it Back Via UPS, the Motor in the Body that Powers the Lens Was Noisy & He Personally Took it to Nikon's Service Center then In El Segundo, Calif & Got Run Around on Repairing the Body Again At A Cost for $160.00 Dollars.

Nikon Claimed that UPS was to Blame while His Camera Body was in Transport, He didn't know what to Believe.

There was Haggling He wanted Nikon to Fix His D90 For Free, But Settled for a Reduced Price For $50.00.

After that He Had No More Problems with His D90.
