While hiding out from Irma, we came up to Williamsburg and made a vacation out of the inconvenience. Went to Jamestown and Surry, Smithfield had a wonderful time. I will send some pics Jamestown in the next posting.
Nice series. I hope your house was okay when you returned (assuming you are home now). My favorite is the beautiful wrought iron (at least it looks like that) fence. It appears that there is a slight break in the fence near the front.
Good idea, making a vacation from Irma. Nice pictures.
Just had a friend drive back from Michigan. The roads in Florida were bumper to bumper and the restroom lines were backed up as well. I hope everything at home is safe and sound!!

I've said it here before, best 3 days of a 3 month U.S. holiday we had in 2011. On a par with the best we have to offer here and in some instances better, particularly the Wheelwrights.
A photo-rich environment, for sure. But did you try the "Game Pie" in the King's Arm?

We didn't, though I've just looked at their menu - and it looks pretty tasty. One to keep if we go back. And I'm something of an expert on pub pies (as my stomach will testify) whether it from the Kings Arms, Queens Head, White Hart, Royal Oak, 4 Horseshoes, Blacksmiths Arms, The Cricketers,................need I go on.
Steak and Kidney cooked in a local beer or guiness is probably my favourite.
Nice photos. I went to nearby William & Mary law school for three years, so these scenes are very familiar. I especially like your eye for interesting close-ups, like the rusty locks or the merchant's sign.
Thanks for the kind words and we are safe at home in Sun City. 11 hours to get there and 9 hours to home, should only be 7 hours. My tongue was bloody.
Thanks for the kind words.
Really nice, informative shots, Way2slk! I've never been to Williamsburg and would love to go!
