Does anyone shoot with the Nikon P 900? If so, how do you like the camera and are you satisfied with the resulting photos? Any downsides to this camera/ Thanks

I have one. I would not consider traveling without it. The other camera I always travel with is the Panasonic FZ1000. The Panasonic is a better camera, but the P900 has much greater zoom. I am sure the real pros with DSLR cameras would not even consider my cameras, but it would take much more room and money to get the camera and lenses to match my cameras. They are good enough for me.

Equipment is secondary. It is the eye behind the viewfinder that makes all the difference.

I also have one. And I use it for certain things like birds and wildlife. For that kind of photgraphy it is quite good for the money. Of course it can be used for everything else as well but for most other things I prefer other cameras because the P900 sensor is very small and that limits the image quality. The only thing that justifies the price of it is the long lens. In other terms it is not much better than a common smartphone camera. If you need all the reach of the camera you would pay 5-10 times more to get similar reach from a Dslr.

Here are a few pics from last month to show what to expect from the P900

Kind of a Love & Hate with the Camera...

The Zoom & Wide Angle is Fair, No Hot Shoe For a Detachable Flash, Kind of Heavy, Like The Canon SX-50 & 60 a Flip Out Back Screen, Creative Filter Mode, & Other Features I Can't Mention.

Otherwise P900 is a Good Bridge Camera

The P900 is an excellent bridge camera with a truely awesome zoom. I use it for bird photography and as long as you respect its limitations you can't go wrong. For long range photography I do find a monopod helpful.

I often use my P900 because my 81 year old legs are less than reliable and I can pretty much shoot from any distance once I find the perspective. You do need to prop or use a tripod/monopod at long extensions.

PS I think the small sensor with 16mp is an issue only if you need to crop and that is not often a big concern.

Without a bridge camera (like Panasonic FZ1000 or Sony) I would miss about 50% of my images.

The upside is a telephoto range you would be hard, if not impossible to match (2000mm) in a DSLR, the downsides are a small sensor (1/2.3) and all the limits that yields, no hotshoe, no swivel screen, and I suspect not having the photographers modes of Av, Tv, and M.

Why post what you "suspect" when somebody asks a question to get information?

Your suspicions are incorrect. The information is available on the Nikon website.

The P900 does have a "swivel screen" as well as Av, Tv and M modes as well a P mode. I use all of the modes as needed. I seldom find a need for a hot shoe. The IQ seems satisfactory if you are not trying to print wall size.

Overall I like the P900 despite it's "limitations."

Since I'm a "senior" I just picked up my P900 to see if my memory had failed me. Re: a previous remark, it's not heavy at all and maybe I really don't know what a swivel is but mine has a screen that flips out horizontally and flips.
