I joined UHH in June about a month after receiving my new Canon 80D. I was finishing up reading David Busch's 80D guide and nearly done all the functionality testing on my new camera. I've spent about an hour every morning reading UHH mostly the Main Photography topics. Then another hour or two reading books and online photography discussions and trying different modes and different shooting assignments with my camera. I know I'm learning, but I sure ain't learning as quickly as I thought I should.
This morning I read the topic about the D7200 and shutter speed settings. I wondered if I could set a minimum shutter speed in the Custom Function settings on my camera. Long story short, I can't. As I was going through the Custom Function Section of Busch's book which I speedily breezed through in June because quite frankly I could barely understand it, I now understand what the CF menus can do and how I can use them to my advantage. I credit UHH and the knowledgeable members for thoughtfully answering all those questions and making me lookup and research topics that I should know.
Thank you all!
Your Canon 80D has a feature called 'Safety Shift' under the Custom Function Menu that will do what you are wanting to do.
