Thanks, Angela. Love all those thumbs. Until yesterday, I had only seen one here and there and now and then this year. I suppose Harvey and Irma chased them all out of Texas and Florida and they had nowhere else to go.

Sherry, excellent set of photos. You are blessed to have so many. We have been starved for both dragons and butters.
Greg
Thanks for your kind comment, Greg. The dragons are newly arrived and I'm going to take full advantage of it! Butters are scarce for me, too.

Wow! You did good on all the shots of those beauties sherry! How nice your hubby let you know they were at the burn pile. To heck with picking up limbs!
Thanks so much, merry! Today, I worked a while then took a break (which was much longer than the time I worked) to shoot more dragons. When I finally went back to the shovel and rake, dragons kept landing on those tools. It was so distracting.

Now I know why our dragon supply has been so puny this year. They've all been hanging out at Sherry's burn piles. What a collection of beauties, Sherry, and your shots are excellent. Send me that hot pink one!
Thank you, Donna, for your kind comment.
Been puny here, too, until yesterday! The back-yard burn pile was a bust today, but the front-yard burn pile was still abundant with dragons. So, not a lot of work done today. I had never seen a pink/purple dragon, but in researching, the first site I visited said they are the "most widespread" of all dragons. Coulda fooled me!

Thanks so much, Doc!
I had a whole family of Red Saddlebags - too bad they didn't pose for a family portrait.
I was away from home for most of today, but before leaving I checked for dragons. Not. A. Single. One. - anywhere

Thanks for looking and for your nice comment, Ron. I think (and I could very well be wrong - that happens a lot) some types of dragons seem to stay in perpetual motion. I guess you just have to have more patience than they do energy. I know I've seen some flying about that I gave up on them ever landing!

At a certain time of the year Sherry we have hundreds/thousands of them flying around the Village..I've sat out in the garden for hours at a time and have only ever seen one land...before I could even raise my camera, it was gone...maybe I might get lucky this year...
