TRADE? My Canon DSLR gear for your Mirrorless gear.
Sep 10, 2017 16:34:30   #
BobT Loc: southern Minnesota

Am feeling the need to downsize in size and weight, for age related physical reasons, and so am offering my Canon DSLR gear in exchange for your Olympus OMD-EM?? or similar gear.
I have the following: Canon T2i camera body, and the following lenses.
Tamron 17-50 f2.8 caps and hood
Canon 10-18mm f4.5-5.6 SMT with caps and hood
Canon 40mm f2.8, SMT, with caps.
Canon 55-250mm SMT with caps and hood
Canon 100-400 IS "L" lens with caps hood, tripod collar and case
All of my gear is in near LN condition, and blemish free.

If such a trade might be of interest to you, shoot me a PM and we can "talk" at more length and work out some details. Ideally, I'd like to swap all of my Canon gear as a whole.

Probably better off selling it to the canon guys.

Sorry no way I'm trading my M43 gear for DSLR but I think you will be pleased when you start using the M43 gear.

Exactly. I know of no one having mirrorless gear in my camera club who would go back to a DSLR system. Unfortunately with the exception of the Canon 100-400 all of his stuff is entry level. He would be much better off selling it on CL, ebay, KEH or trading it to one of the NYC big boys for a mirrorless system.

I realize that such a deal is a long shot. But almost made such a deal about a year ago. So I know there might be someone out there who just might have interest in dealing with me. Besides I have since purchased the Canon 100-400mm (Mk1) "L" lens. That's what actually has me looking at something lighter now. A great lens, by the way, just too hefty for me to use often without extra support.

Hey thanks!

I just requested a quote for of my aging Panasonic DMC-G1. M43 is my go-to kit for travel and adventure outings.

That's no deal, friend. Sell it on Fred Miranda, eBay or UHH to maximize cash and move on the M sooner. That's what I'd do.

You get the trade in value PLUS money off selected items...If no one is willing to purchase or if the OP is in a hurry to trade. This may be the best option. YMMV.

I'm (the OP) not in any particular hurry. But may consider "Eventually" listing my gear "For Sale" if no nibbles within a reasonable length of time. Keeping my DSLR gear is also still an option, too.

That's not really a trade for most of us with m43 gear. It would be a downgrade. I'd look for a Canon fan, newbie photographer, student, or sell it here, Craig's List, eBay, etc.

As mentioned several time above, selling you gear is probably your best option. I moved from FF Canon gear earlier this year and love my OMD EM-1 MK II. The 12-100 f4 is a wonderful all around lens. I also added a Panasonic 100-400 for doing bird photography. I am a happy camper.
