this came out during Christie's "bridgegate", so it doesn't include the Menendez corruption charges... Maybe it's because it's so close to DC, or maybe because the whole state is run by the mob, but New Jersey appears to be the main tributary that is filling the swamp in Washington.

The Menendez story is old news, there was some solid reporting on it a few years ago, as I recall he used his position as a committee chairman to pressure the Dominican government to reward contracts to his eye doctor's investment group, as I recall they were huge contracts surrounding airport security and had nothing to do with medical. The US was funding a large portion of the 100's of millions of dollars being spent on those contracts. Menendez received tons of free gifts from his friend, private jet travel, vacations etc. He is guilty as hell, the Dominican government pushed back on Menendez and in the end he tried to blame Obama for his prosecution but I am not so sure that that defense holds any water at this point. All that being said that does not mean that he will be convicted, this is America after all and he is not only a powerful politician but one who will wear his minority status as a get out of jail for free card as well.
