Snacking

Went for another walk at Gwynedd Preserve this afternoon. Kind of windy and not very many insects. I'm wondering if this is the time of year they start disappearing here in the NE? I found a Praying Mantis who appeared to be snacking on a spider and a Monarch Caterpillar that was decimating the leaves of Milkweed plant.

I hope they didn't mind you interrupting their meal. Very nice set.

Good! I think the dinner is a Japanese beetle. And that is also good.
I recently came across a big Chinese mantis. They are easier to find this time of year.
