this little ones attitude towards horses for not even being two yet was something to see. and a couple more. if they look out of focus I am still figuring that out with focus points

Cute shots. The expression on the last horse in the trail horse class is priceless.

Thankyou and thanks for looking. That one belongs to me and the girl has started showing her mostly in speed events. Didnt know how she would do in trail but they both did great. I may have to start doing it. If she didnt have her mouth open would have been a almost perfect set up shot but that really made this one
I love horses. So nice to see people enjoying them, especially the littlest one.

Select single point focus (select center of frame), then half-press on subject, recompose (usually rule of thirds), shoot
Set camera function to fix focus on half-press

I've never done the trail competitions. They seemed to take forever and were usually scheduled first thing in the morning so they could be done before the lunch break. Regular classes were held later or in another arena, or on other days depending on the size of the show. The course designers can get very creative sometimes
I think my current horse would do well since he's naturally curious and rarely afraid of "strange" things, but I have no desire to compete anymore. Been there, done that and don't even like to go to shows except to get photos.

I am beginning to like taking pictures better. If my horse will do trail i might try it at the next show. I am not a real good rider for the fast stuff and when i try to control her speed if she doesnt like it she hits babysit mode and my attempt is lost
