My original post showed mom Brown Bear challenging a male Brown Bear who had been chasing her and her cubs. These photos show the series from first sighting male Brown Bear to the chase and the swat from Momma Bear.

Nice series. Did you see the end result? Did the boar give up, or did the cubs lose in the end?

Great photos. I can't help but wonder if the intruder is mom's cub from last year??

Based on their size, the two cubs were probably born last year. They stay with mom usually for 3, sometimes 4 years. The male isn't a fully grown though. He didn't stand much chance against a big mamma who will do about anything to protect her cubs.

Man, you caught some great action there. Well done. Looks like they were running right for you. We had that happen several years ago. The mom and cub "hid" behind us since the males seem to be more shy of humans. Looks like she didn't need to hide behind anyone, lol.
