Glacier National Park's Sperry Chalet burned down today...so sad!

So many fires in the state right now and the firefighters are doing one hell of a job....so sad to see that one of the magnificent Chalet's in Glacier Park burned down. I know many of you on this site have visited Glacier, so I thought I would post the link to the article.

A very grave, historic loss. Even Lake McDonald Lodge is closed for the season now.

So sad. Fortunately I was able to have my children and grandchildren enjoy the chalet with me several times. I hope they rebuild. I was in Glacier Park yesterday but it was so smoky on the going to the sun highway from the fire that burned the Chalet I drove around the park on Highway 2 to get to my destination.

I hiked over the pass, from St. Mary's in 1959. Even in July, the snow made some of the hike a bit nervous.
