If I have gray market Nikon D750 and registered it and see it in Camera bag can I have it repaired in USA?
Ah! Interesting. In 2008, I was not able to register my D90 because it was gray market. Well, that's one test that no longer works.
To the OP - I'd call Nikon again - and keep calling - till I got someone who knew what he was talking about.

Thanks God I do not have any problem with my D750 but asked a question just in case. BTW I received recall service as all other D750 cameras.
I am quite sure that if the camera belonged to a professional it is not gray market. Professionals as a rule send their cameras for service to Nikon.
A gray market camera does not have a sticker saying "for the US market." That sticker used to be by the battery compartment, I do not know with new cameras.
How could it be possible that someone tells you that the camera needs to be disassembled to tell if it is gray market?
A gray market and a genuine import are built in the same factory to same specs. If repairs are needed and you cannot present a receipt from an authorized dealer (during the warranty period) the camera will not be repaired.
Believe me, Nikon knows when a camera is gray market and the serial number tells them a lot.
I have a "grey market" Nikon D750.
My local repair person said he can't change the shutter box (if it ever needs it)
because Nikon won't share the software that is part of a shutter replacement.
I guess I would have to ship it back to Japan.
Even after paying the required taxes when it came into Canada
it was still over $800 cheaper than buying it my local camera store.
I suppose if the price was within $200 I would have bought it locally.
Nikon put out a notice almost a year ago. They have agreed to fix D750-D810 gray market. It is at your own expense.
Personally, I have several gray market cameras that are over 20 years old and still working fine.

On Nikon Bodies the first two Serial Number digits are from 25 to 39 inclusive for USA bodies. All other numbers will be gray market products.
With lenses, unless you have the original warranty slip, the only way to tell would be to send it to Nikon.
My D4s starts with 20, was purchased from B&H with a US warranty and was registered with Nikon.
My 3 DX bodies all meet the criteria you mention.

The rep you talked to is nothing more than an idiot and par for the course. Nikon USA's phone reps half the time couldn't find their own back with a GPS unit. Call them back and ask the question again. If you get another idiot demand a supervisor and an answer. The serial number is the way to tell and the only way to tell. Don't let them BS you.

Where did you see this information especially about D750? Could you post a link?
The easiest way to see if they will fix it is go to NikonUsa and start to "Schedule a Repair". When you put in your serial # the repair options (if any) will be listed.

I already tried this way. But I do not have any problem with my camera so I did not finished this procedure. But I have never seen information that Nikon changed their policy about fixing D750 camera.

The choices come up first. You would then have to select one before you could finish.
You could also try Google. It has a better memory than anyone here.

It was Nikon USA. In a directive from 9 months ago. I have a gray d810 so was interested in it for myself. I don't have any more details than that. Have it to do again i wouldn't do gray

Thank you, Jerry. I already had recall on my gray market D750 but I did not find any information about changing Nikon policy for repair service for D750. I do not need it now but hope they change their policy, it will bring them additional money.
